Our Name
The name Hoosier Sister is a play on words. A "Hoosier" is anyone from the state of Indiana. Being sisters and silly, the name Hoosier Sister was derived from Who’s Your Sister- get it?!
Our Story
Owners and sisters, Gretchen and Heidi, began Hoosier Sister in 2013. We started with small beginnings in an antique mall in Indianapolis, transitioned into traveling the country selling, creating, buying, and bringing the Hoosier Sister brand to many. As moms to 6 boys (3 each), Gretchen and Heidi laid roots in their hometown of Carmel, Indiana with a brick and mortar storefront. As the Hoosier Sister brand continues to evolve our desire remains the same. We are excited to bring classic design and vintage style into your home.

Life is busy and I wouldn’t want it any other way! I married my college sweetheart, Tom, 25 years ago and we have 3 amazing sons, Sam, Jack, and Will. As our kids get older and fly the nest, I cherish our family time together. I’m learning how to move into the soon empty nest phase of our lives and make plans for the next chapter! Lake time, gardening, biking, spending time with family and friends, and Hoosier Sister fill my days. Building our business over the past 9 years has been a labor of love for us and our families. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with my sister and share our love of design with our community and customers around the country.

Family and Hoosier Sister keep this mama pretty busy! I have been married to James for 20 years and we are proud parents of 3 awesome boys, Eli, Charlie and Henry. Living a balanced life is very important to me. Family, work, God, friends and exercise pretty much define me. I am extremely thankful for the support of our business and want our customers and community to know we appreciate the continued love!
